Issued by Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, Manchester ·
The Medical Research Council centre will study brain development from pregnancy through early childhood. King’s College London leads the collaboration with University College London and the University of Manchester. Manchester’s programme will connect laboratory research with work at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital and Saint Mary’s Hospital. Planned studies include developmental changes linked to genetic conditions and earlier identification of children at greater risk of neurodevelopmental difficulties. The announcement describes research ambitions and a clinical translation programme, not an already proven new treatment.
