Greater Manchester housing agreement opens route to up to £500m investment
An agreement with the National Housing Bank creates an opportunity for up to £500 million in Greater Manchester housing and regeneration investment. Individual projects remain subject to assessment and approval.
Issued by National Housing Bank and Homes England, Greater Manchester ·
The National Housing Bank and Homes England have announced an agreement with Greater Manchester Combined Authority to support housing and mixed-use regeneration. The arrangement opens the possibility of up to £500 million in investment alongside the Greater Manchester Good Growth Fund.
It builds on earlier cooperation including Victoria North, Stockport MDC and Greater Manchester’s Strategic Place Partnership with Homes England.
The headline amount is not confirmation that the entire sum has been allocated to named developments. Each project must align with the Bank’s mandate and pass its normal due diligence, governance and approval processes. Local leaders describe ambitions for new homes, town-centre regeneration and opportunities for local businesses.
